Pomme Eatery, Lisbon
An Evening at Pomme Eatery, Lisbon
I still think about Pomme Eatery—not necessarily because it was the most extravagant meal I ate in Lisbon, but because the atmosphere seemed to hold everything I love about eating well.
Tucked away in Príncipe Real, Pomme Eatery recently celebrated its third birthday. I first came across it while scrolling through Instagram in search of somewhere to eat during my time in Lisbon. I arrived after a long day getting lost in the streets of Lisbon, tired in the best possible way and ready to pause and savour the evening.
Even now, years later, I still remember the feeling of stepping through its doors. Soft cream interiors, gentle green tones and generous floral arrangements created a space that felt calm, welcoming and beautifully considered. Sitting by the window, watching people pass by, I remember thinking it would make the perfect first-date restaurant—relaxed, intimate and somewhere you'd happily lose track of time over a table of delicious small plates.
Honestly, I had to resist the temptation to order almost everything on the menu. In the end, I settled on a tomato, burrata, avocado and dill salad to start, followed by their now slightly iconic Chicken Kiev. The food mirrored the atmosphere of the restaurant itself—thoughtful, unfussy and quietly confident. Nothing felt overworked or excessive; instead, each dish allowed good ingredients to do what they do best.
Years later, it remains one of the tables I would return to without hesitation.
Pomme Eatery is just one of several memorable tables from my time in Lisbon. If you're looking for more recommendations, you'll find a longer round-up of my favourite places to eat in the city here.
